We are looking for a CPU architecture researcher, who will lead research projects on next generation CPU architecture and microarchitecture. The individual shall be responsible for the various phases of computer architecture research based on the experiences and skills as listed below: • Proposing architectural and/or microarchitectural innovations in the core architecture and microarchitecture, multicore architectures including the heterogeneous and hybrid architectures, memory system, interconnect and SOC, and emerging technologies and applications but not limited to, • Setting up a simulation environment including generating and testing workloads, and installing simulators and related tools, • Coding, testing, and debugging implementations on a cycle-accurate simulator, • Running simulations, and gathering and analyzing the simulation statistics and/or • Publishing research papers at top-tier computer conferences and journals. We expect the following qualifications from each candidate: • Experiences in CPU architecture and microarchitecture research, • Deep understanding of computer architecture and microarchitecture including the O3 execution, pipeline design, memory system, and multi-core architecture, • Experiences in research publication at computer architecture conferences and journals, • Strong C++ and object-oriented programming skills in the Linux environment, • Hands-on experience in performance modeling with cycle-accurate architecture simulators – experience with GEM5 is a plus, • Experiences with script languages, • Good verbal and written communication skills, • Being a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter, who can deliver independently as well as in a team environment, and • PhD degree (Master’s with a strong background in computer architecture research with paper publications) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent majors with emphasis on computer architecture. |
