Key Responsibilities

– Under the direction of the Design Director, design and develop innovative and cost-efficient brand and market relevant footwear which includes concepting, story-telling, and technical development.
– Deliver on-time product solutions in conjunction with the product calendar and business needs ensuring that all deadlines, line plans, and deliverables are met.
– Study and research current and future trends, maintain expert knowledge in global design trends, market competition, and retail landscape. Conduct on and off-site to bring new ideas to the brand.
– Proficient in the creation of tech packs and outsole blueprints, including cross sections.
– Partner with developers in US and Asia online schedules, adhere to the product calendar, ensuring development projects are on track.
– Partner with cross-functional team members to ensure the integrity of designs is maintained during the product development process.
– Carefully follow licensor style guides and standards to ensure intellectual property is correctly and properly used.
– Responsible for getting prototypes and samples executed to reflect the techpack
– Identify product changes and effectively communicate those changes to overseas developers.
– Periodic travel to Asia to for product development and various locations for market research Special projects as assigned.

Requirements

– Bachelor ‘s degree or above in related graphic design, textile design or fashion design
– 4~6+ years of working experience in Footwear industry. Should have a minimum of 4-6 years of shoe designing experience and knowledge of shoe constructions and materials and overall design process.
– Familiar with European and North American markets
– Deep understanding of footwear constructions and manufacturing methods with Asia factory experience.
– 2D design software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro or ProCreate
– 3D modeling: Modo, Gravity Sketch, Rhino, Grasshopper
– Ability to create prototypes and proof of concept models using hands-on technique and digital tools.
– Experience in athletic/outdoor products or technical footwear products needed is a plus.
– Ability to travel for research and factory development trips.
