Key Responsibilities – Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategy and roadmap for user/minor protection and build related products/features from scratch. – Lead a team of backend engineers to define technical requirements for backend systems required for user/minor protection products/features. Coordinate with frontend/mobile teams for successful implementation. – Ensure compliance with age-related privacy laws and regulations, such as COPPA, by working closely with cross-functional teams. – Optimize team performance and achieve business objectives by managing resources and budgets effectively. – Foster a strong team environment by providing continuous mentorship and growth opportunities to team members. – Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including product managers, data scientists, and infrastructure teams. Requirements – Demonstrated experience in leading the development of user-facing products from inception to launch. – Possess a strong product sense and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers and User Researchers. – Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing or technically leading a software engineering team. – Proficient in backend development, including expertise in distributed systems, databases, and APIs. – Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related fields. – Familiarity with agile development methodologies. Preferred Qualifications – Comfortable working as a product hybrid, capable of assuming leadership responsibilities when collaborating with cross-functional partners. – Strong mentorship skills to guide and support team members. – Deep empathy for user/minor well-being. – Knowledge of privacy principles and laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA. – Experience conducting privacy impact assessments and managing associated risks. |
