The position name for this role is 3D Graphics Engineers – XR System, Tech Lead. Our client, is a company founded in 2012 with a mission to inspire creativity and enrich life. Our client is known for leading with curiosity and embracing ambiguity to pursue bold ideas.


The XR Engine and Runtime team at our client’s subsidiary, Pico, is responsible for building core technologies that enable immersive XR experiences. They are seeking a Tech Lead Unreal Engine Engineer to join their fast-growing team. In this role, you will integrate Pico Technology/SDK into Unreal Engine, optimize Unreal Engine for XR and Pico hardware, and develop innovative XR game engine features. Collaboration with the Pico SDK/Runtime team on developer-facing OpenXR extensions and providing developer ecosystem support will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will drive the XR Engine technology direction with cross-functional teams.


To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Unreal Engine or other game engine development. Strong software system design and game engine architecture skills are required, along with proficiency in C++ programming. You should have a deep understanding of modern graphic pipelines and familiarity with graphics APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL, DirectX, or Metal. Experience with low-level performance profiling and optimization is also necessary.


Preferred qualifications include a good understanding of Unreal Engine architecture, experience with AR/VR, OpenXR, and delivering AAA games. Knowledge of Android development (SDK/NDK) and familiarity with modern mobile CPU/GPU architecture, such as Qualcomm SOC, is a plus. Experience with native Unreal Engine plugin development is also desirable.
